Usage-Based Subscription Model

What is Speaking Better's usage-based subscription?

The Usage-Based Subscription is a flexible billing model we offer for our Speaking Better service. Unlike fixed-price subscriptions, usage-based subscriptions charge based on the amount of service you actually use, allowing you to pay only for what you use.

How is usage calculated?

Usage is calculated based on the number of speaking practice exercises you complete. Each time you complete a speaking exercise (including recording and receiving AI feedback), the system records one usage. Different subscription tiers have different usage limits and pricing, with incremental charges for usage beyond the base limit.

How can I check my usage?

You can view your usage for the current billing cycle on the Billing page, including the number of uses and remaining quota. The system displays your current usage, base inclusion amount, and any estimated fees for additional usage.

What happens if I exceed my base quota?

When you exceed the base usage included in your subscription plan, the system automatically charges at preset incremental rates. For example, if your plan includes 20 practice sessions, starting with the 21st session, you'll be charged at the additional rate. You don't need to worry about unexpected overages as we'll notify you when you're approaching your limit, and you can check your usage at any time.

When are usage-based fees settled?

The base subscription fee is charged at the beginning of each billing cycle (monthly or annually). Additional usage fees beyond the base quota are settled at the end of the billing cycle. You can check your current estimated fees on the billing page at any time.
